My brother found out, called me (this is a big deal because my brother is not a phone person, so he never calls), and said, "How long did you cry?" I exclaimed, "What? What are you talking about?" He said, "You cry at everything that boy does..." And, yes, again, my big brother was correct. I cried...and I'm embarrassed to admit that it actually was for a while.
Eli, of course, is the cool, calm, and collected dad. He was like, "Carmen, it's just hair." I, however, did not see it as "just hair." In that moment, I was reminded that I am a crazy mom....a picture-taking, journal recording, macaroni-necklace-saving mom. I just never imagined that it would be like this. Ever.
Here are some before and after pics of E with his very first haircut! Don't worry--we still kept the curls. I wasn't quite ready to give those up yet.
Hopefully it won't be this traumatic with me when Reese is ready for his 1st haircut, but you never know!
You are a wonderful mom, Carmen. Emmanuel looks adorable before AND after. Lots of love to you!
ReplyDeleteI love you and I can just hear Eli saying, "Carmen, it's just hair!" He looks precious with his hair cut!
