What language will Emmanuel speak?

Emmanuel is lucky to have parents who love different cultures.  In fact, I don't just speak to him in English...we also say words in Spanish and Korean and we are trying baby sign language. Yep, that's right!  But there's just one problem.  We don't know enough of any language to help Emmanuel become bilingual!  I know about four or five words in Korean...and more than that in Spanish...but if anything, Emmanuel will just grow up being confused. 

For instance...when I say "Kiss, Mama"...sometimes I say "Bboe bboe, Umma" or "Besame, Mijo (Kiss me, son)."  And we do that for lots of phrases...the problem is I think we are confusing the little man instead of helping him out.  

So, in a few months (or weeks) when Emmanuel utters his first word, he may say "Dada" or "Papi"or "Appa." And instead of saying granny or grammie, he may say "Halmoni."  I guess it will be ok just as long as we can communicate with one another.  But if anybody overhears our conversations, they may think we are a little confused!

So, thanks to all of our friends who have shown us different aspects of their culture.  We love learning about you--keep it coming!  

Our sweet friend, Debbie, taught us this one "lala salama."  It means "Good night" in Swahili.
